The Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department enjoys great reputation, having produced over the years more than 400 legal precedents, many on novel and complex points of law.

The Department welcomes test cases which it believes have merit and has often succeeded in establishing novel points of law. In fact, the Firm’s senior partner, Kyriacos Th. Michaelides, has been involved in a great number of celebrated cases which have become leading precedents and which have over the years changed legal thinking both in Cyprus and other jurisdictions. He has also often been described as one of the most fierce and effective cross-examiners in the country. This skill has been passed on to the other members of the department as the Firm places great emphasis on continuous training of its lawyers. As a result  several of its former members currently hold senior judicial positions, both in the High Court and the District Court as well as the Employment Tribunal.

The Department handles all types of civil litigation in  all of the Firm’s areas of practice. The Firm has often acted for the Republic of Cyprus in complex litigation and arbitration matters.

The Department’s litigation, ADR and arbitration expertise allows it to be particularly strong in the fields of commercial and corporate litigation, construction, , administrative law and compulsory acquisition and requisition of land, intellectual property, employment law, banking and financial services as well as negligence cases, including medical negligence and product liability and personal injury cases.
