REAL ESTATE AND CONSTRUCTION
The Real Estate and Construction Department acts for and against construction companies, land developers, architects and civil/electrical/mechanical engineers. The work undertaken involves:
- drafting of and advising on all types of building contracts, consultancy agreements and all related documentation;
- advice on public tenders for major projects, especially public utilities and transport
- BOT contracts
- project finance
- contract negotiations
- joint venture projects
- litigation and alternative dispute resolution, especially arbitration
The Department has acted in relation to the construction of large scale civil works, such as airports, motorways, hotels, large scale office developments, dams and water reservoirs, water sewerage projects and other similar projects.
The Department also undertakes all types of legal work relating to real estate, such as:
- negotiation and drafting of sale agreements
- advice and negotiation in relation to the acquisition and disposal of property
- advising on the acquisition of property in Cyprus by foreigners
- lease and license agreements
- landlord and tenant issues
- compulsory acquisition and requisition of land
all other matters relating to real estate
